University of California Press, one of the most distinguished university presses in the United States, enriches lives around the world by advancing scholarship in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Its activities are supported by the UC Press Foundation and by philanthropic contributions from individuals and institutions.

UC Press is among the six largest university presses in the United States and, of these, is the only one located in the West and associated with a public university. UC Press:

  • Publishes approximately 200 new books and 40 multi-issue journals annually
  • Keeps in print approximately 4,000 titles
  • Provides all journals and 2,000 books online

It publishes an international cast of authors working both within and outside the academy. About one-fourth are affiliated with the University of California.
